Provided are a function expansion device, a display device, and a controlling method thereof. The function expansion device includes: a function unit which is able to perform a function by being linked with the display device; a storage unit which stores user information and an application related to the function unit; an interface unit which connects a communications with the display device; and a control unit which controls the function unit in order to operate by being linked with the display device based on the application and the user information stored in the storage unit in a case of being connected to the display device through the interface unit. |
