The present invention relates to a mobile terminal capable of controlling the function thereof in response to an external force and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a mobile terminal includes a terminal body; an accelerator sensor configured to sense tapping an object using a movement of the terminal body, and to generate a control signal when the tap is sensed multiple times within the time limit; and a control unit configured to control at least one among functions executable in the mobile terminal in response to the control signal. Therefore, the mobile terminal may control the function thereof in response to tapping an object. |
