The present invention relates to a lithium air battery and, more particularly, to a lithium air battery capable of reducing an overvoltage in charging and discharging operations by preventing excessive contact between an electrolyte and a catalyst layer of the lithium air battery by adopting a buffer layer which is made of mesoporous carbon and conductive ion exchange reins between the electrolyte and the catalyst layer comprising a positive electrode. At the same time, the lithium air battery according to the present invention improves durability by suppressing the evaporation of an electrolyte solvent. Thus, the present invention prevents the degradation of the performance of the battery and increases the lifetime of the battery. |
