1. A method of producing a plant having drought tolerance comprising
a) introducing into at least one plant or plant part a vector comprising a nucleic acid molecule which expresses or increases a polypeptide that confers drought tolerance, the polypeptide selected from:
i) a nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 or variants thereof;ii) a nucleotide sequence that encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1;iii) a polypeptide encoding a NON-RACE-SPECIFIC DISEASE RESISTANCE1 (NDR1); andii) a sequence having at least 80% identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, and b) selecting at least one plant or plant part having improved drought tolerance from a plurality of plants or plant parts into which the vector has been introduced compared to a plant in which no vector has been introduced. |
