Provided are a fuel cell and fuel cell device capable of reducing variances in the output of the power-generating surface and of generating power efficiently by delivering an oxidizing agent and a reducing agent such as fuel gas, liquid fuel, or other fluid into a gas diffusion layer, and also capable of reliably discharging the gaseous impurities accumulated in the gas diffusion layer and generating a sufficient amount of electric power. The present invention comprises: a membrane electrode assembly (10); a gas diffusion layer (40) for diffusing fuel and feeding the fuel to an anode catalyst layer (12); a fluid supply unit (50) provided with nozzles (52) projecting toward the anode catalyst layer (12); a diffusion plate (53) extending along the surface of the gas diffusion layer (40) from the tip of each of the nozzles (52); and storage units (55a, 55b) for storing the gaseous impurities displaced by the fuel fed by the gas diffusion layer (40). |
