An electric motor system (S) is characterized by comprising: an electric motor (1) that has a stator (2) and a rotor (6) supported by magnetic levitation and that is configured by each phase having at least two parallel coils; a circulating current detection means (21, 12) that detects the circulating current flowing in the coil for each of at least two phases among the phases; and an eccentricity estimation means (13) that estimates the amount of eccentricity and the direction of eccentricity of the rotor (6) on the basis of the circulating current detected by the circulating current detection means (21, 12).
