Provided is a redox flow battery capable of suppressing precipitation of precipitates and having a high energy density. The redox flow battery supplies positive electrode electrolyte and negative electrode electrolyte to a battery cell and charges and discharges same, said battery cell comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a diaphragm interposed between both electrodes. The positive electrode electrolyte contains manganese ions, titanium ions, and reactive metal ions. The negative electrode electrolyte contains at least one type of metal ion selected from titanium ions, vanadium ions, chromium ions, and zinc ions. The reactive metal ions are at least one type selected from vanadium ions, chromium ions, iron ions, cobalt ions, copper ions, molybdenum ions, ruthenium ions, palladium ions, silver ions, tungsten ions, mercury ions, and cerium ions. |
