PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a plurality of quantum bits in desired entanglement states while suppressing influence of loss, using a probabilistic gate.SOLUTION: A method includes performing X measurement of one quantum bit contained in a first quantum bit set consisting of three or more quantum bits in an entanglement state, to generate a second quantum bit set in a quantum state: |&eegr;>|Φ>|Φ>|&eegr;>+|&eegr;>|Φ>|Φ>|&eegr;>. To the quantum state and a quantum state of a third quantum bit set: |&eegr;>|Φ>|&eegr;>+|&eegr;>|Φ>|&eegr;>, a quantum operation is applied represented by the relation: γ<Φ|<Φ|+γ<Φ|<Φ|, to generate a fourth quantum bit set in a quantum state: |&eegr;>|Φ>|&eegr;>+|&eegr;>|Φ>|&eegr;>, which is in an entanglement state. |
