Basic monoazo dyestuffs are produced by the coupling of diazo compds. of amines (I) with compds. (II) For dyeing and printing of polymers with more than 80% acrylonitrile content, esp. polyacrylonitrile; and copolymers of 80-95% acrylonitrile and 20-5% vinylacetate, methacrylate or methylmethacrylate, esp. copolymers of 85% acrylonitrile and 15% vinylacetate or vinylpyridine. The dyeings are characterised by good wash, light, sweat, sublimation and solvent fastness etc. They are especially pH stable. The shades range from yellow-brown-bluish-red.
