PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide centralized program guide information by a remote personal TV service center.SOLUTION: Through a digital video recorder 110 connected through a telephone modem or a network server to a personal TV service center 130, or through a remote computer terminal or a personal digital assistant connected to a computer network, a user accesses the personal TV service center. The user selects a program event, and programs the digital video recorder using a graphical user interface installed on the front panel of the digital video recorder in the case of local programming, or using a similar GUI incorporated into a Web page displayed on a remote user by a Web server in the case of remote programming. |
