PSEUDO WIRES FOR MOBILITY MANAGEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for facilitating mobility management by utilizing neighbor router discovery and at least two pseudo wires.SOLUTION: A wireless device 102 receives a beacon 116 transmitted from an access router 106. Mutual identification of an access router 104 and the access router 106 enables the wireless device 102 to handoff from the access router 104 to the access router 106. To transport signaling and traffic between the access routers 104, 106, pseudo wires are created. A first pseudo wire is created for LLC frames. A second pseudo wire communicates to the access router 106 through the access router 104 until direct communication is established through a handoff.
