<p>PURPOSE: A channel estimation and compensation method and a receiver thereof are provided to obtain the desired performance with little calculation quantity by performing the channel equalization using MMSE technique and the estimation of the SNR using preamble. CONSTITUTION: A FFT performing unit(110) changes the radio frequency signal received through an antenna into the frequency area by performing the FFT. A subcarrier separator(120) separately outputs a pilot subcarrier, a data subcarrier, and preamble from the transformed signal to the frequency area. A channel estimator(130) estimates the channel value of data subcarrier by using the separated pilot subcarrier. A noise estimator(140) estimates SNR based on the separated preamble. A channel compensator(150) compensates the channel based on the estimated channel value and SNR.</p> |
