PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first substrate and a second substrate which are mutually opposed; a switching element which is located on the first substrate; a pixel electrode which is connected to the switching element and to which data voltage is applied; a counter electrode which is formed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer which is located between the first and the second substrates and includes liquid crystal molecules. The pixel electrode includes a liquid crystal direction control part which divides the pixel electrode into multiple sub regions. The directions in which the liquid crystal molecules tilt when the data voltage is applied to the pixel electrode are mutually different among the multiple sub regions, and the liquid crystal direction control part is formed so as to be recessed downward or swelled upward relative to the surface of the first substrate. |
