<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an optical absorption rate of a photoelectric conversion element and to improve photoelectric conversion efficiency while suppressing a manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element 10 comprises a photoelectric conversion layer 20, and a plurality of metal nanoparticles 36 two-dimensionally arranged on a main surface side of the photoelectric conversion layer 20.
