PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying a high-definition image by suppressing a harmful effect causing an unclear contour of a pixel due to unnecessary light and deterioration in transistor characteristics.SOLUTION: A display device comprises a transistor 11 provided on a substrate 10; an insulating film 13 provided on the transistor and having a light shielding property; and a light-emitting element 22 provided on the insulating film having the light shielding property. The insulating film having the light shielding property is provided with an opening through which light from the light-emitting element passes.
