PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous catalyst paste composition and an aqueous catalyst ink composition both arranged for fuel batteries which have good dispersibility for a non-platinum and carbon-based catalyst material, a low viscosity and an excellent electrochemical property, and are superior in storage stability and suitability to coating; and to provide, by use of these compositions, a catalyst layer or water-repellent layer for fuel batteries which is remarkably small in the coating unevenness and the production of pin holes in coating, a catalyst electrode for fuel batteries and an electrode film assembly for fuel batteries each including such a catalyst layer or water-repellent layer, and a fuel battery superior in battery performance.SOLUTION: An aqueous catalyst paste composition for fuel batteries comprises: a non-platinum and carbon-based catalyst material; an aqueous resin type dispersant (A) having an acid functional group and an acid value of 50-720 mgKOH/g; and an aqueous liquid medium. |
