PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining method capable of refining a surfactant after using the surfactant having sufficient concentration, to produce a dispersion liquid of 200 nm or smaller particle, while maintaining the particle size and dispersion.SOLUTION: A refining method is for reducing a surfactant from a solution containing: hydrophobic naphthalocyanine or hydrophobic phthalocyanine; and the surfactant. At dilution, the concentration of the surfactant included in the solution is 30 times the critical micelle concentration.
