<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system and an overdischarge detection method for a battery system which implement improved accuracy of detecting an overdischarged cell. <P>SOLUTION: The battery system includes: a plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn each including a plurality of battery cells 201-205 connected in series; a plurality of voltage monitoring sections DV1-DVn for measuring respective voltages of the plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn; and a control section for controlling charging/discharging of the plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn. When a determination execution condition including a voltage difference between two of the plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn reaching a predetermined value during discharging is satisfied, the control section forcibly charges the plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn, and determines whether or not there are any overdischarged battery cells in the plurality of battery blocks BU1-BUn on the basis of a change in the voltage difference at the forcible charging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
