The present invention provides a method for synthesizing ammonia using a solar thermal energy, whereby it becomes possible to reduce the load on the collection of a solar thermal energy, particularly a high-temperature solar thermal energy. The method according to the present invention, which can synthesize ammonia using a solar thermal energy, comprises the following steps (a) to (c): (a) carrying out an ammonia synthesis reaction (10) by reacting nitrogen with hydrogen to synthesize ammonia; (b) heating heat media (51 to 55) by means of a solar thermal energy (100) and a reaction thermal energy generated in the ammonia synthesis reaction (20); and (c) carrying out at least a part of a water decomposition reaction (30), which can decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen, using a thermal energy coming from the heated heat media (51 to 55), thereby producing hydrogen. |
