<p>PURPOSE: A method of controlling an input detection interval for a touch screen of a handheld terminal and a handheld terminal performing the same are provided to prevent the operation of a portable terminal or an application temporally when a touch screen input occurs in an environment which lacks the resources of a CPU. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen controller(220) creates a numeric value corresponding to an electric signal generated by the input on a touch screen and generates touch interrupt, and a CPU(230) controls a touch input detection interval. An application property database(240) stores the information about the attribute of the application. When the touch interrupt occurs or the touch input detection interval elapses, the CPU discriminates a foreground application and confirms the attribute of the application. The CPU control the touch input detection interval by corresponding to the attribute.</p> |
