PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deform an ion-conductive polymer actuator 1 in random shapes.SOLUTION: An ion-conductive polymer actuator 1 includes electrode layers 3a and 3b, and a polymer membrane 2 held by the electrode layers 3a and 3b. The polymer membrane 2 includes portions 21 having ion conductivity and portions 22 having no ion conductivity that are alternately disposed in a stripe shape in an identical plane. By providing a voltage between the electrode layers 3a and 3b from a power-supply circuit 4, plus ions 6 in the portions 21 having ion conductivity are moved by an electric field occurring between the electrode layers 3a and 3b, so that the portions 21 having ion conductivity bend, thereby deforming the pair of electrode layers 3a and 3b and the portions 22 having no ion conductivity in association with the bend. |
