PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly reliable chiller capable of preventing the breakage of the equipment due to a liquid hammer phenomenon, for example, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A freezing/cold storage system in which a refrigerant circulation circuit is constructed by connecting: a compressor 1 for compressing refrigerant; a condenser 2 for condensing the refrigerant; an electromagnetic valve 3 for controlling the flow of the refrigerant by opening or blocking the channel of the refrigerant; an expansion valve 4 for adjusting the pressure by controlling the flow rate of the refrigerant; and a chiller 5 for cooling the refrigerant, by piping. The expansion valve 4 includes a spring 42 and an orifice 41 which is displaced by an elastic force of the spring 42 so as to change the area of the opening of the channel. The electromagnetic valve 3 is connected to the expansion valve 4 such that the direction of the channel on the refrigerant outflow side of the electromagnetic valve 3 is orthogonal to the direction of the orifice 41 moving within the expansion valve 4 while if the spring 42 lengthens, the orifice 41 reduces the area of the opening, if the spring 42 contracts, the orifice 41 increases the area of the opening. |
