PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high refractive index glass with a high liquid phase viscosity without containing a large amount of expensive heavy metal.SOLUTION: This high refractive index glass is characterized by containing, as a glass composition, 3-20 mass% of TiO+ZrO, with the mass ratio (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO)/CaO being 2-10, and the refractive index (n) being 1.55 to 1.70.
