PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell which enhances the light absorption ratio of long wavelength and is suppressed in thickness.SOLUTION: In a solar cell 1, a photonic crystal is constituted by providing periodicity to the refractive index difference between a photoelectric conversion layer 12 in which a plurality of recesses are regularly formed on the surface on the light incident side and a first transparent conductive film 11 in which a plurality of protrusions 16 are formed by filling at least the recesses.
