[Problem] In a so-called spiral heat exchanger, to effect a reduction in dimensions including other apparatuses configuring a thermal cycle. [Solution] This heat exchanger (1) is such that a spiraling pathway (7) is configured between spiral partitions (3) provided within a cylindrical vessel (2), a vertical plurality of spiraling tubes (4) are provided contacting the spiraling pathway (7), and heat is exchanged between a first fluid flowing within the spiraling pathway (7) outside the spiraling tubes (4) and a second fluid flowing within the spiraling tubes. Other apparatuses (receiver tank (37), gas-liquid separator (34)) configuring a thermal cycle in which the heat exchanger (1) is used are housed within the vessel interior space (G) formed at the center of the spirals.
