PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-piece solid golf ball which enables even an amateur golfer whose head speed is not fast to add enough deformation to a ball and obtain an excellent hitting performance and comfortable hitting feeling and provides excellent durability.SOLUTION: The golf ball has: a core having a double-layer structure with an inner layer 1 and an outer layer 2; and a cover with two or more layers including an intermediate layer 4 and an external layer 5 around the core. The core inner layer 1 is made of specific thermoplastic elastomer as a main material, the core outer layer 2 is made of rubber material and the hardness relations between the core inner layer 1 and the core outer layer 2 and the hardness relations between the intermediate layer 4 and the external layer 5 are adjusted.
