<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for outputting a color image to a recording medium, the method providing a color image having no unnecessary uneveness and having satisfactory image quality. <P>SOLUTION: Before a step 105 of adjusting the color of each dot of a color image by ejecting at least one of color inks of a plurality of color to a recording medium, a step 104 is provide of ejecting undercoating ink to the recording medium so that the total number of liquid droplets TDN of ink forming each dot becomes constant.
