Provided is a technique for retrieving local tourism information with reference to the position of a user, the technique facilitating the accurate retrieval of tourism information truly required by the user. The present position of a user on a map is measured, using the measured present position as a retrieval key, retrieval is performed on a memory in which a plurality of reference areas (RA, RB, RC, RD) respectively assigned to a plurality of objects (A, B, C, D) on the map and a plurality of pieces of tourism information are associated with each other and stored to thereby extract a reference area in which the measured present position is located from the plurality of reference areas, and tourism information corresponding to the extracted reference area among the plurality of pieces of tourism information is provided to the user. Each of the reference areas has a position, a shape, and an area that reflect the attribute of the object corresponding thereto on the map. |
