<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent illegal copying.SOLUTION: Data encrypted by a 1394-interface 26 of a DVD player 1 is transmitted to a personal computer 2 and a magneto-optical disk device 3 through a 1394-bus 11. In the magneto-optical disk device 3 which does not permit a user to change its functions, the received data is decrypted by the 1394-interface 36. On the other hand, in the personal computer 2 which permits the user to change its functions, the encrypted data is decrypted by using a time-variant key i at the 1394-interface 49, and the decryption result is further decrypted by using a session key S at an application section 61.</p> |
