摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a piezoelectric actuator which has its piezoelectric layer polarized in a direction parallel with a plane direction thereof, and a liquid discharge device with the piezoelectric actuator.SOLUTION: A plurality of electrodes 71 which serve as a lower electrode 43 and a polarizing electrode 47 and are arrayed in a conveyance direction are provided between an ink separation layer 41 and a piezoelectric layer 42 which are laminated one over the other. On an upper surface of the piezoelectric layer 42, a plurality of electrodes 72 are arranged which serve as an upper electrode 44 and a polarizing electrode 48 and overlap with the plurality of electrodes 71. Parts sandwiched between respective lower electrodes 43 and upper electrodes 44 of the piezoelectric layer 42 are polarized in a direction parallel with the conveyance direction by generating potential differences between electrodes 71, 72 which are contiguous upstream from the lower electrodes 43 and upper electrodes 44 in the conveyance direction and electrodes 71, 72 which are contiguous downstream.</p>
