PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle that prevents occurrence of a fracture or crack of an optical fiber by external force or a temperature change when downsizing an optical receptor, and enables an economical production.SOLUTION: An optical receptacle comprises: a fiber stub 5 that includes an optical fiber 2 having a core, a ferrule 3 having a through-hole 3b where the optical fiber 2 is anchored, an elastic member 4 to be filled into the through-hole 3b; and a holding enclosure 6. The through-hole 3b has a small diameter part and a large diameter part, and the optical fiber 2 is disposed at the small diameter part inside the through-hole 3b over an entire area. The elastic member 4 has an almost same refractive index as that of the core, and is also filled into the large diameter part together with the small diameter part. The elastic member 4 is polished so that at least one part of the elastic member 4 becomes a plane part on a side of performing an optical connection to a plug ferrule and in an edge surface of the fiber stub 5 on an opposite side. |
