<p>The invention relates to a liquid crystal aligning agent, a liquid crystal alignment layer, a liquid crystal display element, polyamide acids and polyimides. The liquid crystal aligning agent provided does not deteriorate due to film absorbing water after liquid crystal alignment layer is formed and exposed to air for a while, has excellent coating peeling property and excellent printing performance. The liquid crystal aligning agent contains at least one polymer selected from a group consisting of polyamide acids and polymides obtained by dewatering cyclization of the polyamide acids, and the polyamide acids are obtained through reaction between diamines and tetracaboxylic dianhydrides. The liquid crystal aligning agent is characterized in that the diamines are special diamines having a structure of phenyl - indane and diamines containing carboxyl.</p> |
