<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat treated firewood for camping and a method for manufacturing the same, which are capable of shortening initial ignition time and controlling generation of smoke, and which provide higher heating values than conventional firewood, wherein the heat treated firewood can be used for barbecue after it is used for camping fire, and hardness of the heat treated firewood is enhanced more than that of the conventional firewood so that it is hard to break.SOLUTION: A method comprises: a cutting step for cutting raw wood including oaks, such as quercus variabilis, quercus serrata, and quercus acutissima, and broad leaf trees, such as acacia and white birch, with a fixed length; a step for conducting high heat treatment at the temperature of 150°C to 230°C for 5 hours to 24 hours, while adjusting humidity in a fixed humidity range using a steam jet, after the cut raw wood is transferred to a quick high-heat treatment room; and a step for gradually decreasing the temperature in the quick high-heat treatment room at normal temperature for fixed time. Weight ratio of the carbon content contained in the firewood is 50 wt% and more to less than 80 wt%. In components of the firewood, the method thermally decomposes hemi cellulose, without thermal decomposition of cellulose, so as to shorten initial ignition time and reduce generation of smoke and sparks.</p> |
