<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display system for performing driving support in consideration of existence of a pedestrian in the surroundings of a self-vehicle irrespective of a place during travel. <P>SOLUTION: A server in a map display system receives the current place from a portable terminal carried by a pedestrian etc. and an on-vehicle terminal to be stored via the Internet. Then, map image data for displaying a map image 100 in which a user mark 130 showing a district including the current place of the corresponding terminal and showing the current place of the pedestrian who carries the portable terminal in the district, and vehicle marks 121-123 showing the current place of a vehicle on which the on-vehicle terminal is loaded in the district are drawn is generated to be transmitted to the corresponding terminal.
