1280537 Separation of radioisotopes E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 3 July 1969 [3 July 1968] 29368/69 Heading G6R Technetium 99m is separated from molybdenum 99 by eluting an ion exchange resin on which the isotopes are adsorbed, using as eluent a saline solution containing an oxidizing agent. The amount of oxidizing agent is sufficient to provide the equivalent of 0À001 to 1 volume per cent available chlorine in the saline solution. Suitable oxidizing agents are oxygen (bubbled through the solution), sodium hypochlorite, potassium permanganate, sodium perbromite, peracetic acid, cupric acetate, iodoisobenzene, phenanthrenequinone, and pyridine N-oxide. |
