1280326 Ammoxidation catalysts CHIMIE DEVELOPPEMENT INTERNATIONAL 13 Oct 1969 [21 Oct 1968] 50085/69 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] A catalyst for the ammoxidation of hydrocarbons containing a free methyl group (see Division C2) comprises V 2 O 5 supported on TiO 2 and is obtained by impregnating anatase TiO 2 having a specific surface area of 6 to 20 m<SP>2</SP>/gm with a solution of a vanadium compound and heating the resultant mixture. The catalyst may additionally comprise at least one oxide of W, Mg, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mo, Ag, Sn, Te, Ba, Bi, Th, U, As, Sb and P. A binder of an aluminous cement may also be used and the catalyst may be compressed into pellets. |
