<p>Title compds. of formula (I): where N = 0-2, and R1 and R2 = H, OH, hal, NO2, (1-6C) alkyl, (1-6C) O-alkyl, NH2, or alkylenedioxy, but R1 and R2 are not both H, and salts, esters and amides of I, are antiinflammatories with no ulcerogenic activity. I are prepd. by the Fischer indole synthesis, i.e. cyclisation of a substd. 3-ketocyclohexane (alkyl) carboxylic acid phenyl hydrazone, opt in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. a Cu or Zn salt and/or cyclising reagent, e.g. POCl3.</p> |
