According to the present invention, a spacing between electrodes for driving a liquid crystal is increased such that a gradient of an electric field applied between the electrodes is controlled and an optimal electric field is applied between the electrodes. The display device comprises: a first electrode formed on a substrate; an insulation film formed on the substrate and on the first electrode; a thin film transistor (TFT) which is formed on the insulation film and includes a semiconductor film having a source, a channel area, and a drain; a second electrode which overlies the semiconductor film and is located over the first electrode, wherein the second electrode has a first open pattern; and a liquid crystal arranged over the second electrode. |
