A light scanning device comprises a light source; a deflector to deflect a light speed from the light source; and an imaging optical system to light guide the light speed deflected by the deflector onto the scanned surface. The imaging optical system includes a single image optical element, wherein the requirements of 0.15<=T2/Sk<=0.3 and 0.03<=d/K<=0.08 are met on a light axis of the imaging optical system. The requirement of 0.3<=B<=0.6 is met in a light condensing location Y having a maximum scanning angle &thgr; when the light condensing location Y in a primary scanning direction on the scanned surface is shown by an equation, Y=(K/B)×tan(B×&thgr;) in the light speed deflected at the scanning angle &thgr; by the deflector, thereby achieving good imaging performance from the imaging optical element and reducing the size and the costs. |
