Adhesive applicator 1 comprises a receiver 3 having a tubular body with a closed first end 13 and an opposed second end 15. The body comprises a deformable wall 11; an applicator tip 5; and contains an adhesive. The tip comprises a foam material of reticulated foam felt 7 having an applicator surface 7a-7c for applying the adhesive. Deforming the body causes the adhesive to be expressed through the tip. The felt material may be polyurethane with a firmness grade of 2 to 4. The second end may have an adhesive retaining plug, where the plug moves on deforming the body to release adhesive from the body. The second end may be an open end with adhesive contained within a sealed ampoule of a frangible material that fractures upon deforming the body, releasing the adhesive and where a mesh shard barrier may be between the ampoule and felt material preventing fractured ampoule shards contacting the felt material. Wings 9a&9b may be fixed at one end to the receiver and moveable for applying ampoule fracturing pressure via respective wing attached barbs 21a&21b facing the body.
