A lubricant compsn. is formed from a hydrocarbon base material with a kinematic viscosity of 1.5-200 0 cS at 210 degrees F and a large amt. of (A) a hydrogenated liquid polymer of a 3-12C olefine, or (B) a mixt. of >=1 13-29C naphthene and 0.1-20 pts. wt. related to the naphthene, of (a) a synthetic liquid (co)polymer or terpolymer of a 3-8C olefine, (b) a polymer as in (a), at least partly hydrogenated, pref. to an I2 number 20, esp. 5, (c) a heavy, hydrofined naphthenic lubricant oil with 1% of gel aromatic hydrocarbon, and/or (d) a heavy, hydrofined paraffinic lubricant oil with 1% of gel aromatic hydrocarbon. A surfactant organic phosphate ester of a straight-chain aliphatic ethoxylated alcohol can opt. also be included.
