The invention relates to a method and to a device for blow moulding containers. Initially, a preform, which is made of a thermoplastic material, is subjected to thermal conditioning along a transport path in the region of a heating section. Subsequently, the preform is transformed into a container inside a blow form by means of blow pressure effects. The preform rolls along at least one part of the transport path thereof through the heating section with a peripheral area of the surface thereof directly on a reference surface which predefines a rotational movement of the preform.
