<p>A method and device for simulating a light source (1) having a light intensity profile that varies in time. The method includes the steps of: providing a light source (1); using a mask (5) to at least partially block light (3) emitted by the light source (1); and adjusting the position of the mask (5) in accordance with an electrical signal representative of the light intensity profile so as to adjust the extent to which the mask (5) blocks light (3) from the light source (1), and thereby providing the light intensity profile that varies in time. The device comprises: a mask (5) to at least partially block light (3) from a light source (1); and an actuator for adjusting the position of the mask in accordance with an electrical signal representative of the light intensity profile so that the extent to which the mask blocks light from the light source is adjustable to provide the light intensity profile that varies in time.</p> |
