A thioxanthone compound represented by the following general formula [1]: wherein R1 to R8 are each independently selected from a hydrogen atom or an aryl group selected from the group consisting of a biphenyl group, a naphthyl group, a phenanthrene group, a fluorenyl group, a triphenylenyl group, a dibenzofuranyl group and a dibenzothiophenyl group, provided that at least one of R1 to R8 is the aryl group; and wherein the aryl group may further have an alkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic heterocyclic group. |
