A backlight comprises an optical fiber light emitting panel, having at least one optical fiber light emitting unit, and at least one lighting lamp. Each of the optical fiber light emitting units includes a light emitting unit and a light guiding unit which are connected to each other. The light emitting unit forms a light emitting area having a sheet-like shape. The light guiding unit is extended to one edge portion of the optical fiber light emitting panel. The lighting lamp is implemented on a cross section of the light guiding unit. Since a diffusion film for diffusing light from the optical fiber light emitting panel is implemented, uniformity of the light from the diffusion film is increased and image quality of a screen is improved. |
