FIELD: engines and pumps.SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a monitoring method of activation temperature of diesel oxidation catalyst of an internal combustion engine, which involves the following stages: measurement of exhaust gas temperature before and after the catalyst is made during an additional injection phase or a repeated additional injection phase of the internal combustion engine; it is determined whether activation of the catalyst occurred using the data on the measured temperature of exhaust gas; catalyst surface temperature is calculated using the data on the measured exhaust gas temperature; and the calculated temperature is specified as catalyst activation temperature in case catalyst activation has been determined.EFFECT: invention allows creating a monitoring device of activation temperature of a diesel oxidation catalyst, which considers catalyst ageing.12 cl, 2 dwg
