A power plant (8) is provided. The power plant (8) includes a gas turbine engine assembly (10). The power plant (8) further includes a carbon dioxide (CO2) separator (80) in flow communication with the gas turbine engine assembly, the CO2 separator configured to substantially remove the CO2 from a gas turbine engine exhaust stream to produce a CO2 lean exhaust stream. The power plant (8) further includes an expander (62) configured to reduce an operating temperature of the CO2 lean exhaust stream such that the cooled CO2 lean exhaust stream may be utilized to reduce an operating temperature of air entering the gas turbine engine assembly.
