The objective of the present invention is to provide a speed detection device for a part feeder capable of detecting a conveyance speed of walks using a line camera which is adapted as a camera generally mounted in the part feeder, and to provide the part feeder. The speed detection device for a part feeder (7), which is applied to the part feeder (100) having a camera to photograph walks (3) conveyed along a conveyance route (10), comprises a line camera which has multiple photographing elements arranged to be orthogonal to a conveyance direction of walks (3) and photographs the walks (3) passing through a photographing position (P1) set on a conveyance route at certain intervals. The line camera (2) includes: a photographing number obtaining unit (42a) to obtain the number of photographing from the front side to the back side of the walks (3); and a speed calculating means (42) to calculate a conveyance speed (Vw) of the walks (3) based on the photographing time and a conveyance direction (Lw1) length of the walks (3) considering the photographing time obtained based on the photographing number and a photographing interval (S) of the line camera (2) as the time required for the walks (3) to pass through the photographing position (P1) by giving the conveyance direction (Lw1) length of the walks (3) and the photographing interval (S) of the line camera (2) and by giving the photographing number (A) obtained by the photographing number obtaining unit (42a). |
