<p>PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an intermediate which is used in preparing ezetimibe is provided to economically prepare intermediate compound of high purity. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate of chemical formula 4 is prepared by asymmetry reduction using compounds of chemical formulas 2 and 3, and metal borohydride. In chemical formulas 2, 3, and 4, Ph is phenyl radical, and X is hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 halo alkoxy, halogen, or nitro radical. The metal hydride is calcium hydride. The metal borohydride is lithium borohydride, sodium borohydride, or potassium borohydride. The asymmetry reduction is performed in organic solvent at 10-50°C. The organic solvent is tetrahydrofuran, and diethylether, or mixture thereof.</p> |
