The present invention provides an apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving the discovery signal of a base station in a mobile communication system. The present invention includes a macro base station, to which a component carrier (CC) of a specific frequency band is allocated, and at least one small base station, to which N CCs of a frequency band, different from the CC allocated to the macro base station, are allocated. The method for transmitting the discovery signal (DS) from the small base station in the mobile communication system includes the following steps: generating the DS corresponding to specific information; and transmitting the generated DS through a discovery channel (DCH) forming the transmission resources of the macro base station, wherein the specific information is at least one among a component carrier that the small base station uses, a cell ID (CID) index information of the small base station, and an idle base station index when the small base station is in an idle mode. |
